Freediving Coaching Session

Half a day freediving training session is a perfect way to level up your freediving in any chosen aspect. We start with defining your current goals and discuss the chosen aspect of your freediving journey in depth. After setting up the goal and light stretching, we would continue with a line diving session. It’s up to you what would be the main focus of the session: refresh the skills, work on breath hold or equalization, stamina or depth adaptation. After the session we would take enough time to analyze the session and set some goals for the future.

We believe that progress in freediving needs time and that’s why we offer freediving coaching sessions: 2 and 5 sessions. After 1 session your coach will understand your diving style and needs for future training, clear goals would be set; in 2 sessions you would start testing the approach coach is offering and understand why is it chosen; in 5 sessions you would rich some certain progress in depth, relaxation and technique.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What safety protocols do you follow during freediving training?

Freediving is a safe activity only because safety is taken seriously. We care about this aspect of freediving the most and all our practices and education follows that approach.

Firstly, you have to know which practices are safe in freediving and which are not, you need to know what potential danger freediving can bring and how to avoid acting unsafe. We also discuss safety and rescue protocols, meaning what you do if you or your buddy is in trouble and immediate help is needed. While practicing freediving during our courses or coaching sessions we maintain all safety rules and practice rescue protocol with students. During our fun diving sessions we also follow safety protocols which are specific to non-line freediving.

Our instructors are officially certified which means they also pass their First Aid courses each 2 years and are ready to act accordingly in the water and above.

Are you offering a personalized approach for scheduling and while training?

Let’s be real—there are a lot of good freediving schools out there, but what makes our school the best in Amed, and maybe even in Bali, is our personal approach and flexibility with scheduling.

Take languages, for example. We teach in English, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and Indonesian. Even if you join a course in English, you can be sure that during practical sessions you’ll still get feedback and advice in the language you’re most comfortable with. We also run complete courses in those languages if requested.

Every course is built around you. If your schedule is tight, we’ll adjust start times, skip the pool if you’re ready to head straight to the ocean, or even run sessions at your villa. No rigid, “everyone-does-the-same-thing” approach—just freediving your way, on your terms.

In short—we keep you safe, make it fun, and help you grow, whether you’re here for just a few days or embarking on a longer freediving journey.

How do I get to Amed from Canggu, Ubud, or Denpasar?

It’s actually pretty easy. From Canggu or Ubud, the ride takes around 3–3.5 hours, and from Denpasar or the airport, about 2.5–3 hours. You can rent a scooter if you travel light, or take a car with a driver if you want it comfortable and simple. The road is scenic, especially once you get closer to Amed—you’ll pass rice fields, small villages, and ocean views. If you need, we can arrange transportation for you or help with finding a driver we trust. Same if you haven’t booked your stay yet—we’re happy to suggest nice places to stay in Amed that fit your budget and vibe.

Can I choose which aspect to focus on while coaching session?

Yes—you can. Every coaching session at Bali Freedivers Amed starts with a detailed briefing, where we talk through your freediving experience, your best dives, and the challenges you’ve faced. From there, we review the freediving theory related to your chosen topic and set clear goals before getting in the water. The session plan is always tailored to focus on one or two specific aspects so your body and mind aren’t overloaded.

To see real progress, consistency is key. That’s why we recommend several coaching sessions—not only to refine techniques but also to build a step-by-step training program designed around your goals. This way, you don’t just improve a little; you establish lasting skills and reach much higher results.

Do I need to be certified freediver to go for a coaching session with you?

No—you don’t need full certification to join our freediving coaching in Amed. What matters is that you’ve completed a Level 1 freediving course with a certified instructor (SSI, AIDA, Molchanovs, or another recognized system). Many divers finish their beginner course but still miss one or two requirements, even if they passed the theory and practical sessions.

That’s where coaching comes in. We’ll focus on improving your skills and helping you complete those missing requirements. With video proof of your progress, you can then contact your original instructor to get everything signed off and move forward with confidence.
